Angeloglasie 2016

Monday, May 30, 2016 to Sunday, June 5, 2016

Considering the effect that the first edition of the festival had last year, we believe that this initiative could usher us in a new tradition of exploration, study and proper adoption and interpretation of Christian music.

Therefore, for the second edition of the festival, we again plan to bring together representatives of different Christian cultures under the same roof of music. For this purpose we invited elite representatives of various ancient Christian musical traditions:
- Frederic Tavernier-Velas (France), Ph.D., specialist in Byzantine tradition, professor of Byzantine chant
- Jean-Etienne Landzhanni (France), a specialist in Gregorian and traditional Corsican singing, teacher, singer
- Ensemble "Tavagna" (Corsica), masters of traditional Corsican singing
- Mixed choir "Les Métaboles" (France), widely popular in France Europe and composition with rich religious and secular repertoire
- Male choir "Didgori" (Georgia), popular in his country and around the world, masters of authentic Georgian church singing
- Mixed chamber choir "Peter Dinev" in "St.. St. Cyril and Methodius "(Bulgaria), established and recognized at home and abroad with its stylish interpretation of Orthodox church music composition

We intend to organize two concerts as dialogues between ensembles of the Western and the Eastern Christian traditions.

Apart from that we plan to have a seminar on early Byzantine Christian music traditions, led by Frederic Tavernier-Velas, a worldwide expert in this sphere.

As a traditional finish of the festival, we plan to have a participation in the Holy Mass at the "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" church, Sofia.
